Tonsillits

Every person three types of tonsils,located in different parts of the mouth area.
1.Palatine Tonsils-located on both sides of the back of the throat
2.Lingual  Tonsils –located at the base of the tongue.
3.Pharyngeal Tonsils,or adenoids – located high in the throat,behind the nose.

Tonsils acts as part of the body’s immune system by filtering germs, bacteria and viruses that enter the body through the nose and mouth.when you breath in air,it flows down a pathway from the nose through the throat down to the lungs or airway.the position of tonsils create a protection circle around this airway in an effort to trap harmful infection before they reach the lungs where they could pass into the blood stream.

Infection in tonsils can be –acute,subacute and chronic.

Symptoms of acute tonsillitis include:
⇒    Rapid onset of sore throat that worsens over time
⇒    Moderate to high fever
⇒    Difficulty and pain  while swallowing
⇒    Red and engorged tonsils that may or may not have pus
⇒    Swollen or tender lymph nodes below the jaw
⇒    Hoarseness or loss of voice may or may not be present
⇒    Swollen tonsils may cause mouth breathing, snoring and nocturnal breathing pauses.

Recurrent tonsillitis is one of the very common childhood disorder and can have significant impact on the health of a child.Homoeopathy doesn’t agree with conventional treatment in removal of tonsils. General Management
⇒    Gargling with warm water helps in reducing pain.
⇒    Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
⇒    Avoid spicy foods and take smooth foods like soups,porridge etc
